Today we can look back on an exciting college football championship game and several NFL playoff games. And as much as we would always like our team to be on top, there are always winners and losers. Two teams play their hearts out for us to see one of them lose in a close one. Although many of you will disagree, one or two fluke plays might change the outcome to a loss for the team who actually played a better game. And, sometimes the best team does not always win. At the end of some games I cannot help but think about what the great coach Vince Lombardi once said, “We didn’t lose the game, we just ran out of time.” Although life is anything but a game, one or two mistakes, or even better, one or two great decisions can change the direction of our lives. Winning in this life does not involve keeping score because what we accumulate has no meaning whatsoever at the end of our time here on earth. Manage your life well, and all will end well.
