Lent is a time to pause and reflect, a time to seek repentance. It is a time for us to do our best to be more like Jesus. To achieve that, we must decide for ourselves who He is and what that means to us. In Matthew 16:15 Jesus says, ““But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” At face value, it seems that this is a simple question. However, if taken seriously it can require so much more than a simple answer of “our savior.” We say who He is through all of our actions – written, verbal, and how others see us in the world. When we claim to follow Jesus, we must like live we mean it. We must do what He tells us to do. We must be His light in an otherwise dark world. To use the old, but well put cliché, “We can’t just talk the talk, we must walk the walk.” Love Him, seek Him, serve Him, and others will be drawn to Him! I pray that our example will influence a multitude of people to find Him as they watch our Lenten Journey beyond the cross to Easter morning.
