Life is hard. Life is difficult. Life is not fair. All statements that can set the mood of your mind and your future. The Evil One has an insidious way of creeping these thoughts into your mind, and his purpose is to detract you from realizing and living the life that God would have you to live. He is so skillful and accomplishes this in so many ways. He plants thoughts and illusions that include “I deserve this. Work and commitments will not get in the way of my fun. My pleasure and enjoyment come before any responsibilities I have. It is all about me. Everybody is doing it.” We hear these things so much, we soon begin to believe them or at a minimum start to think they might hold some truth. Never forget that God wants you to live, but He wants you to put Him and His plans first in your life – always. God wants us to enjoy life but do it in such a way that He is pleased. Galatians 1:10 says, “Am I now seeking human approval, or God’s approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
